Overview

She’s a pristine cloud.
Formed by heaven's breath.
Painted white by the ocean breeze and kissed
by rays of the glowing sun. With grace,
she glides across the infinite sky.

That is the atmosphere. Her home.
And her friends are the flight of geese that yearly head south.
And mechanical birds that carry people of all sorts—
mostly fathers, mothers and their kids
that wave their tiny hands through lucent glass windows.

The wind is her lover.
And together they explore the great beyond.
She leaves her space in the vast expanse of blue and soar
above lofty green mountains and fields of gold,
pointed structures of bricks made of sand,
a tower angled in the most peculiar way,
a statue of a woman standing with valor and pride
and a great wall that stretches for miles
and miles. They journey over towering skyscrapers
that light up like stars on lonely dark nights
and tall street lamps that flicker red, yellow and green.

And she grins.
Marveling at the sight of multi-colored rooftops
and endless chains of cars, trucks and trains.
And busy people walking to and fro,
stop and go.

And they stop.
The hustle and bustle of the earth below
and the beauty of its intricacies
are too fascinating not to notice.
But will you take notice?
You won’t.
Unless you view the world from up there.

Unexplainable Science

Nineteen years.
Two decades of meaningful existence.
I breathe, eat, sleep, move, think
and think that I know everything.

Everything.
Like I know about Gravity.
Such powerful force! Constantly pulling every
Living, non-living, animate, inanimate object
towards the center of the inconsistent earth.
Oh I know how it accelerates at 9.8 m/s².
A fine gentleman once discovered it
when one shiny apple made target of his head.

Yet I wonder sometimes,
(well maybe more often)
Of what force there is that pulls
two unlike people towards each other. That no
living, non-living, animate, inanimate object
exists but them, in those exhilarating moments when
heartbeats accelerate at least 9.8 m/s²—
Oh hand me that shiny apple, please.

Poem #2: Describe an emotion using images.
Bliss

As we tangle in a sweet embrace
like vines
crawling their way toward the sun.
I feel an idyllic warmness
that can melt the polar caps of Antarctica.
I succumb to beauty wrapped in my arms.
Flawless and divine,
I am in awe.
And as the earth spins below our feet,
the stars and moon dance in cadence.
I explode into a million pieces.

Poem #3: Haiku

Crimson mixed with blue
Barefoot on cobblestone trail
By Manila’s edge.

The Unintended Consequence of Time and Space

Sometimes,
I drown in torrents
of unwarranted loneliness.
Of silent heartbeats and
unrequited affection.
Cruel space and isolation.
And the idea of parting
consuming my entire being.
And I despise every moment of it.
At that instance
when reason and emotion collide,
my mind gets derailed.
And I’m no longer myself.

I just finished writing this poem for my Creative Writing class.

I’m no poet , I know. That’s why it's pretty short hihi.

Though I'm still pleased cause the outcome's not so bad. This is by the way a response/reaction to Bob Dylan's song, Most of the Time—which is sorta the assigned theme for this composition .

Hayy.. I just hope I wouldn't screw up during our poetry recital tomorrow (kakahiya..I barely know my classmates).
